{Easy Recipes} Dark Chocolate Guinness Gelato

Anyone who has followed our blog, , or knows how much my husband loves beer.  And because he's half-Irish, I've made him Guinness chocolate cupcakes and Guinness ice cream floats.  So with the summery weather, I knew I had to make him a Dark Chocolate Guinness Gelato.

If you're a Guinness beer drinker, you'll love this easy gelato. The dark chocolate and Guinness beer mixes together to make a rich and deep flavor. The taste of the beer is definitely pronounced. You could also serve the gelato with whipped cream for the frothy beer head effect.

{Sweet Treats} Hazelnut Iced Coffee

Summertime means that we always have people dropping by for a casual get-together.  We love having friends and family over to our apartment - and there's nothing better than catching up over coffee. Since my husband loves his daily iced coffee pick-me-up, we always have a pitcher of cold brewed coffee ready to share.

This past weekend, Jeff's family and friends came to visit us in the city. While we waited out the sudden evening rain, I made Hazelnut Ice Coffee dessert drinks for everyone. Happily our guests enjoyed these sweet treats (and they perked everyone up!)

{Wine Wednesday} Refreshing Rosé for Summer

Now that summer has hit with a vengeance, it is the perfect time to breakout some lighter wines, including the oft-derided, yet immensely popular Rosé.  Like most people, we've had far too many sweet and cloying wines or ones lacking character.  My wife was actually very surprised when I ordered a glass of Rosé the last time we were out at a restaurant.  But there are a few wineries I like that make a nice, crisp, clean Rosé that pairs well with seafood, salads, and other light summery dishes.
